They expect leaders to create a culture in which diverse groups thrive. They want to see the diversity of the workforce match the diversity of the society which the organisation serves. They demand to see progress and visible signs of inclusion.
Unfortunately, most of us lack both the confidence and capability to lead in these new areas. There is no course for inclusion, no place to explore gender norms, no race relations 101 and no explanation as to why who you love matters in the workplace. How do you enhance diversity whilst managing not to disengage the rest of our workforce?
